Residential Mold growth in Long Island, NY
This home owner reached out SERVPRO of Great Neck/Port Washington when they found stains in the back side of the walls, in one of the walls in one of their bedrooms. Our trained technicians went out to the house to inspect the area, visible mold was greater than ten square feet.
Areas that have mold affecting more than ten square feet here on Long Island require an independent assessment from an environmental hygienist. Once a report is received we followed report recommendation which indicated protocol during the remediation.
We have removed all walls finished four feet up, decontaminated all exposed remaining framing and all surfaces within contained area, along with manual decontamination using HEPA vacuuming, abrasive cleaning with special SERVPRO products followed by HEPA vacuuming once more.
Upon completion of remediation activities, it is required that the environmental test company return to conduct a post microbial remediation inspection, coupled with environmental sampling, as deemed necessary by the assigned hygienist, to confirm efficacy and completion of the work to remove equipment.
