Water Leak Floods Lower Level of Home in Roslyn, NY
This home's lower level flooded from a leak due to an external pipe that cracked. It saturated hundreds of square feet of carpeting and padding that ran through the entire structure. SERVPRO of Great Neck/Port Washington was called in to extract the water and remove the carpeting as well as the padding beneath. Because water hit the drywall and wicked up, anywhere from 18" to 24" had to be removed around the entire perimeter of affected areas.
Once the floors were clear, and water removed the air movers were placed to aid the drying process in order to avoid mold growth later down the road.
Once our work was completed, the area was ready and prepared for new drywall and carpet to be installed.
