Sewage Backup - Before & After

This bathroom backup in Long Island, NY was the result of a back flow.  The damage area affected included every area of the room.  The after photo is post-cleanup, when the room had been sanitized and treated.  Direct contact with fecal contaminated water can bring on a host of illnesses.  Contact and use of materials, furnishings, clothing, and other objects that came in contact with fecal contaminants can cause illness - some hard surface items may be cleaned and sanitized but organic matter, soft materials and goods more often than not need to be destroyed as they can retain harmful pathogens.  When in doubt, throw it out!
